Quick and easy meal ideas for kids: Shrimp skewers
Today’s post will be the first of a few posts on how to make quick and easy meals for your family. Picture this scenario: it’s 6:00 p.m. you just came home from work, the kids are hungry, homework needs to be done and then you hear the dreaded question: “Mom, what’s for dinner?”
It’s not easy juggling our busy lives while trying to feed our families a hot nutritious dinner everyday. These quick and easy dinner ideas will help take the stress out of family meal times.
Today we start with a delicious and quick idea for dinner: shrimp skewers. You can find a few different frozen shrimp skewers on the market, just buy your favourite and serve it with a side of your prefered In Cuisin mashed potatoes ready in 2 minutes. Marinate some fresh shrimp (shelled and deveined) in a mix of garlic, lemon juice and olive oil with a bit of salt and pepper and an herb of your choice (parsley, thym, tarragon) in the refrigerator for a few minutes. Skewer on some bamboo skewers that you’ve pre-soaked in water to prevent burning. Grill on the barbecue or bake in the oven until the shrimps turn pink.
