It’s already December and the holidays are just around the corner. Aside from the traditional Christmas tree, another creative way to let the holiday spirit invade your home is by decorating it with glimmering snow globes. They are so easy to make and kids love to admire them. So before throwing yourself into mobbed shopping malls to find gifts for your loved ones, why not create your own snow globes with them while listening to Christmas music!

Materials:

  • Glass jar with a a tight fitting lid (Mason jars are my favourites)
  • Small figurine or plastic Christmas tree
  • Liquid glycerin*
  • Distilled water*
  • Crazy glue or hot glue gun
  • Glitter or fake snow

*Liquid glycerin and distilled water can both be found at your local drugstore.

How to make them:

  • Using glue, attach your figurine to the lid of the glass jar. Let dry completely (a few hours should do it).
  • Fill the jar almost to the top with distilled water
  • Add several drops of glycerin, The more you add, the slower the glitter will fall, so this is at your won discretion.
  • Put a few pinches of glitter or fake snow
  • Screw the lid as tightly as you can.
  • Shake your jar and admire the Christmas magic!

Have a good time!
