Recipe: Grilled calf liver with mashed potatoes

I’ll admit that liver is not my favourite thing to eat. However, I found a way of cooking it with tons of sautéed onions and mushrooms that actually has made this very healthy and rich in iron cut of meat very delectable. Trust me when I say that this dish will win over any member of your family who may be reluctant towards liver.

Cook time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 pieces of calf liver
  • Whole baby carrots peeled and trimmed but with a bit of the stem left
  • 1/2 white onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup of mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of chicken stock
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 bag of garlic and chive In Cuisin mashed potatoes

Method:

  1. Grill or sautée the veal liver with a teaspoon of oilve oil, some salt and some cracked black pepper.
  2. Sauté the mushrooms and onions in a pan with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of chicken stock and some salt and pepper
  3. Add the carrot whole towards the end and sauté until it turns a bit golden
  4. Prepare the In Cuisin mashed potatoes according to the instructions on the bag and serve alongside the liver

Ingrédients:

  • 2 morceaux de foie de veau
  • Des carottes entières, pelées et nettoyées mais laissez un bout de tige intact
  • 1/2 oignon blanc, émincé
  • 1/2 tasse de champignons, émincés
  • 2 grandes cuillères d’huile d’olive
  • 2 grandes cuillères de bouillon de poulet
  • Sel et poivre
  • 1 sac de purée de pommes de terre In Cuisin à l’ail et à la ciboulette

Méthode:

  1. Salez et poivrez vos morceaux de foie et faites les sauter dans un la moitié de l’huile d’olive
  2. Faites sauté les champignons et les oignons dans le restant de l’huile d’olive, le bouillon de poulet en prenant soin de saler et de poivrer votre mélange
  3. Rajoutez les carottes avant la fin de la cuisson et laissez dorer
  4. Préparer votre purée de pomme de terre In Cuisin selon le sdirectives sur le sac et servez sur le côté
