Barbecue week: Grilled pizza
Barbecue week continues on the blog with another one of my favourite things to cook outdoors: grilled pizza!
Grilled pizza is easy and so much fun! Your guests can participate by adding their own toppings and making their own pizza. Pizza is everyone’s favourite food and kids and adults alike love it so for your next party, have a grilled pizza extravaganza and watch all your guests have a great time!
Ingredients:
- Store bought or homemade pizza dough
- Store bought or homemade pizza sauce
- Olive oil
Toppings:
- Grilled vegetables
- Cheese of your choice
- Herbs of your choice
- Meats of your choice
- In Snax pita crisps
Method:
- Heat your grill to high heat
- Shape the dough pizza circles and brush with olive oil
- Brush your grill with olive oil and place your dough on the grill
- Close the lid and let it cook for 2 minutes then check to see if the bottom is getting browned. If not, let it sit for another minute
- Flip the dough, brush lightly with tomato sauce (too much will make your pizza soggy), place your toppings then close the lid back and cook for 2 or 3 more minutes
Note: If you are using vegetables like zucchini, peppers, artichokes, etc. they need to be grilled or cooked before placing them on your pizza
