Recipe: Easy sour cream oysters

Today, I’d like to share my weekend with you. This simple sour cream oyster recipe is easily cooked on the barbecue and is delicious with a glass of sparkling wine. It takes a total of 15 minutes to prepare and serve this before you dig into a delicious main meal of say, lamb shanks and risotto. Follow these simple steps made for 15 oysters and enjoy this easy and  fancy appetizer with your friends and family.


  • 15 fresh oysters
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp of lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp of curry powder
  • 10 chives, finely chopped
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Lemon zest and chopped chives to garnish (optional)
  1. Chuck the oysters and remove them from their shells (you can also ask your fishmonger to do this for you)
  2. In a bowl, combine teh sour cream, lemon juice, curry powder, chopped chives and salt
  3. Preheat your grill to high heat
  4. Place 1 tsp. of the sour cream topping on each oyster
  5. Place the oysters directly on the grill and close the lid
  6. Cook until oyster juice begins to boil (about 5 minutes)
  7. Garnish with chives and lemon zest, and serve

  • 15 huîtres fraîches
  • 1/2 tasse de crème sure
  • 1 c. à thé de jus de citron
  • 1/2 c. à thé de cari
  • 10 tiges de ciboulette, hachées finement
  • 1 pincée de sel
  • Zeste de citron et ciboulette hachée, au goût, en garniture
  1. Ouvrir les huîtres et les détacher de leur coquille (vous pouvez demander à votre poissonnier de le faire pour vous)
  2. Dans un bol, mélanger la crème sure, le jus de citron, le cari, la ciboulette hachée et le sel
  3. Préchauffer le barbecue à température élevé
  4. Déposer 1 c. à thé de la garniture de crème sure sur chaque huître
  5. Déposer les huîtres directement sur la grille du barbecue
  6. Fermer le couvercle du barbecue et cuire jusqu’à ce que le jus de l’huître commence à bouillir (environ 5 minutes)
  7. Garnir de ciboulette et de zeste de citron, et servir
