Is fatigue knocking at your door at work these day, especially in the middle of the afternoon? Surely, with our winter still going strong, and all that there is to do in a day (and night), no wonder you feel a little gloomy and tired. Here are a few tips that will help you recharge and get your energy back!

Have a healthy breakfast:  Yes sometimes it’s hard to eat when you have just woken up, but to deprive your body of food in the morning is a bad idea. Having a good homemade granola, for example, will help you carry out your tasks efficiently, and you will be more prepared, mentally and physically, to face more strenuous jobs. You will also be more concentrated.

Fresh air and light: Enjoy a breath of fresh air during your lunch break and take a 20 minute walk. Feel the light on your face. Force yourself to yawn! It is a really good thing to do because in just one breath, you are sending oxygen to your whole body as well as your brain. You will be full of energy when you get back to work because the more you absorb light, the better you feel.

Chocolate: Yes, you read that right! When eaten moderatly, chocolate is an ideal energy booster because with its caloric input, it allows you to stay alert when you are tired and you can benefit from the antioxydants and euphoric vertues of the cocoa! I bet that’s your favourite tip so far!

Stretching: Believe it or not, it is more rough on the body to be seated than standing, especially if you stay in the same position for long periods. Give yourself at least a 3-minute break every half hour so that you can stretch every part of your body, from hands to toes. There is a way to do it discreetly. You will work better and your body will thank you for it.

Plan and take a moment for you: Take a moment just for you, to read an article, make a friendly phone call, take a nap… It will help you clear your mind! Start your week with planning your menus, your laundry day, your errands… and  stick to it as much as you can. Schedule in some time for you in there too! Quality time which, and at the end of the day, will help you deal better with the rest of your life which in turn will benefit everyone around you.
